Saw E1

This is the second crosscut saw that I used. It has been part of the family since at least the 40s. It is Disston Champion saw that listed for $3.00 in Disston's 1918 catalog.

At one point during the 50s, using it as a Boy Scout, I successfully managed to put a permanent scar on my left knee. I did this while trying to prove that I could cut a log faster that a two man team could. Unfortunately the saw jumped out of the cut the first time I gave a pull and the saw fell down on my leg. (I was wearing shorts at the time and my knee stopped it quite nicely).

In 2006 I had Dolly Chapman sharpen it.
